Red Ribbon Week

Just say NO!  This past week we celebrated Red Ribbon Week.  We had hippie day, red day, crazy everything day, and backwards/inside out day.  One day students got the"courage" to climb the rock wall. We had several students who reached the very top and rang the bell.  It was lots of fun.  We had a great week talking about having courage to say NO and make good choices!

One if our favorite things to do in kindergarten is taking our field trip to dewberry farm. The students love it and so do the teachers and parents.

HOT, HOT, HOT

In Science we learned about heat and its sources. We brainstormed and made a list of things that give us heat.  The students came up with a stove, the sun, microwave, candle, light bulb, and fire. We talked about  how we were going to be a scientist and do an experiment, (putting chocolate out in the sun).  We then made  predictions of what would happen with our experiment.  .  We also used our sense of touch to feel what happened to the  cookie sheet  that was out in the sun.  Well our predictions were correct!  Of course the best part of being a scientist on friday was being able  to eat our experiment.                                                                             !
